On the afternoon of September 27th, School of International Education (SIE) held Chinese and foreign students' Mid-Autumn Gala in Room 102, Mingde Building. All teachers and staff members of IEC, representatives of foreign teachers, all foreign students on campus, and students from International Exchange Association and Qingya Drama Club participated in this activity.

In the gala, Dr. Chen Xiwu, Director of IEC and Dean of SIE, first sent holiday greetings and blessings to the foreign teachers and students on behalf of the university. He said that as one of the four major traditional Chinese festivals, the Mid-Autumn Festival contains rich cultural connotations, including worship, thanks to mothers, reunion, harmony, moon worship and folklore, so it is hoped that through this activity, foreign teachers and students can feel the long history of Chinese traditional culture, and become cultural exchange messengers who know China, love China and are friendly to China.

Foreign teachers and students watched a video on the Mid-Autumn Festival and learned about the origins of the festival. Students from the Qingya Drama Club performed traditional Chinese dramas such as “Ode to a Pear Blossom”, “Female Emperor’s Son-in-Law” and “The Great Entrance”. Everyone played games, received mooncakes, enjoyed the theater, and the laughter brought the atmosphere of the event to a climax.

This gala built a platform for communication between Chinese and foreign students, enriched the experience of the second class for international students, and promoted cultural exchange and integration between different regions and countries. Foreign teachers and students said that this Mid-Autumn Festival was a very ceremonial day, with a strong flavor of Chinese culture. They all felt the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
